About

Straight out of Bristol, 25-year-old Jakobin is making waves in the underground scene with his eclectic UK Funky and Bass sets. Originally hailing from Madagascar Jakobins selections and original tracks stay close to his roots, with beats heavily influenced by the rhythmic percussion and tribal music of his homeland. While Jakobin keeps the vibes consistent, you can be sure he never sticks to one style, with his setlists spanning a wide range of underground music from 120-140 bpm, covering UK Funky, Garage, House, Grime and everything in between.

His high energy performances have earned him spots supporting some of the biggest names in UK Bass music, including Skepsis, Royal T, Tsuki and Sammy Virji to name a few. Alongside this his guest mixes have featured on BBC Introducing, Bristols own SWU.FM and 1020 Radio, the legendary Rinse FM and even on the other side of the world on the Australia based FBI Radio.

Alongside his growing credentials as a DJ, Jakobin’s productions have been quietly but surely earning him a reputation as one to watch in the UK Bass scene. Releases on WILEOUT, track features on Kiss FM and BBC Introducing and some his widely popular bootlegs on SoundCloud prove that Jakobin isn’t going anywhere. Always growing, Jakobin’s African style riddims will continue to be enjoyed all over, whether at an event in Bristol or at a stay at home rave anywhere from here to the opposite end of the hemisphere.
